Event #3: 14th May 2008 at Auckland Club

So what is Agile? ? Gillian Clark

Jim Highsmith (amongst other things, the director of the Agile Project Management Advisory Service for the Cutter Consortium) has said "Agile is a way of thinking, not a particular practice."

Whilst this is true and very relevant ? it doesn?t really answer the question ?but what is Agile, with a capital A?.

This presentation is aimed at explaining what agile is (from a software development perspective) and examines:

Ø  Some of the flavors of Agile

Ø  Mentions the fours parts of the Agile Manifesto

Ø  The key features of any agile process

Agile v Waterfall ? A debate
Facilitator ? Gillian Clark Debate ? Garth Hamilton and Darren McTigue

This debate will centre around the assumption that in waterfall we know the answer to the following questions.  Pro-waterfall (Darren) and pro-Agile (Garth) will debate the following questions:

Ø  As a manager aren?t I just writing a blank cheque?

Ø  How do I know I will get my development done on time?

Ø  How do I know I am getting everything I am paying for?

Ø  What does ?done? mean?

Ø  How can I guarantee quality?
