The presentation will briefly visit the main principles of Kanban and then look at a case study of a successful implementation at BBC Worldwide by Dr Peter Middleton, a leading UK Lean researcher. It will cover the challenges the team faced, a real life Kanban board example and why the implementation was successful. It will also endeavor to touch on Systems Thinking, Theory of Constraints and queuing theory along with some hopefully useful tips not yet covered in Kanban literature.

Our speaker: Gareth EvansGareth Evans is currently working with Assurity as an Agile coach after returning from 12 years working in the UK in investment and wholesale banking and media. In his last role at BBC Worldwide Gareth was part of the first team to implement Kanban within BBCWW, one of the earliest Kanban implementations in the UK. Gareth worked directly with David Joyce (a leading UK Kanban practitioner, now at ThoughtWorks Melbourne)  and the team had guidance from David Anderson (Kanban for software engineering inventor).
