DigitalNZ and Agile
DigitalNZ (www.digitalnz.org) is an initiative led by the National Library of NZ that is helping to make NZ?s digital content easier to find, share and use. Wave 1 of DigitalNZ was released in December 2008. Delivered using agile practices, the DigitalNZ team (along with a team of vendor partners) have just completed Wave 2 of the project.Andy and Shanan will present some of their observations from Wave 2 and discuss real-life experiences and the ups and downs of using Scrum to deliver.
About our Speakers - Andy Neale and Shanan Holm
Andy was appointed as the Programme Manager of DigitalNZ in 2009, after leading its technical development the previous year. His diverse background bridges the worlds of software engineering, IT, and marketing, and he has a deep knowledge of enterprise web management. In former lives he has held technology management positions at the National Library of NZ, PricewaterhouseCoopers Global IT, and on the international board of a large non-profit organisation based in Brussels.Shanan was the Agile PM for Wave 2 of DigitalNZ and works for local web development and Agile consulting services company 3months as Projects Director. Shanan has a background covering web development, project delivery, and project methodologies and is always keen to espouse the virtues of agile after having experienced the satisfaction it brings customers and teams. Shanan is also a self-described facilitation game junkie, and loves a good bit of collaborative problem solving.
