Auckland APN - asking for your help, and moving to Meetup.com

Hello wonderful Agile Professional!

As you might have heard, we're moving to http://www.meetup.com/agile-auckland for our events from now on - this makes it much easier to see and sign up to our regular events, so please hop on over and make yourself an account.  We have an event tonight!  Agile Tuesdays in the Occidental Bar on Vulcan Lane - pop in if you're in town.

We have also received a plea for help from Julie Tweedie, a Masters student who is studying Agile implementations.  If you've got half an hour to help out, you will be contributing to the global body of knowledge on Agile implementations - imagine the warm glow from doing that!

Below is Julie's request with details of who she's looking for.

====================================

I am looking for 1-2 people from the Auckland area who could participate in a phone / skype interview at the end of this week or early next week.

The following is a brief summary about what I’m looking for… as part of a research project for my Masters (through Massey University)

Type of person

·         must have experienced an organisation going through a transition from traditional plan-based methods to Agile  (this could have been a pilot, full enterprise, successful, failure, or still working through the transition, internal or external to the organisation, in any role), and

·         must have used at least 1 recognised Agile method, and

·         must have been using Agile method/s for more than 12 months

Research method

·         the research will be a semi-structure interview, estimated to last approximately 30 mins (depending on how much you have to say, of course)

·         the interview will ask 4-5 open ended questions.  These questions are experienced based, so there is no right or wrong.

·         you will be shown an Agile change management model and asked to give your initial impressions of the model (again, no right or wrong, just what you think of it)

·         all interview participants will be kept strictly anonymous (which is why you are being emailed separately), as will any organisations or people you may mention in your interview.  Additional attention will be paid in preparing the results in the report so that no person or organisation can be identified

·         you can terminate the interview at any stage, or decline to answer any question

·         you will also be given my supervisors name and contact details, should you have any additional comments or concerns at any stage

·         you can have access to the results of the research (upon completion and post-marking) if you wish

Interested?

I am looking to do the interviews between Wednesday (August 10th) and Monday (15th).

As I am working on this research full time, I am likely to be able to make myself available at a time that suits you.

If you are interested, please let me know by return email to juliemtweedie@xtra.co.nz, with some preferred dates and times.

Thanks so much for even reading this email to the end… and I hope that you are able to help out.  If not, that is totally ok too.

Thanks again

Julie Tweedie
