This month we bring two pieces of exciting news:

1. The ANZ Testing Board has generously come on board as a sponsor of the Chch APN. Thank you ANZTB!
2. Jens Ostergaard from the Scrum Training Institute will be presenting at our next Chch APN Meeting. Note the date is different to the usual end of month – this time it is the 15th July due to Jens’ schedule.

Thanks to the hard work of your proactive APN working party, we are pleased to announce a third sponsor for the Chch APN – the Australian and New Zealand Testing Board. The ANZTB is the region body representing software testing professionals in Australia and New Zealand. They offer sought-after certification, dependable training accreditation and career-enhancing support for software testing professionals throughout Australia and New Zealand.

As a member of the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB), the ANZTB is responsible for providing a consistent accreditation system for the education and training of professional testers. The Board develops, adopts and promulgates standards for software testing, training course development, and professional qualification.

Christchurch APN Meeting Seven - Jens Ostergaard on lessons in Scrum adoption from around the world

The APN committee are proud to bring our second international speaker in seven meetings! Jens Ostergaard is in Christchurch as a guest of Clarus for a nationwide Scrum training road show. Edwin has managed to convince Jens to give up his Thursday night to come and speak to the APN about what is happening around the world with Scrum.

Come along and meet Jens in person and here him discuss some of the challenges, successes and lessons from large scale Scrum implementations, and some of the key changes occurring with Scrum worldwide right from the coalface.

Along with a number of the world’s most prominent Scrum practitioners, Jens is part of the Scrum Training Institute - a company set up by the creator of Scrum Jeff Sutherland. Jens was the world’s first Certified Scrum Practitioner and has been involved in implementing Scrum right from the very beginning. Jens is a highly charismatic guy and has some fascinating stories including getting fired for trying to implement Scrum. This hasn’t deterred Jens and he has gone on from strength to strength to establish an outstanding international reputation as a leader at the very forefront of Agile worldwide.
